AmeriCares International disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization that provides immediate response to emergency medical needs- and supports long-term healthcare programs- for people all around the world, irrespective of race, creed, or political persuasion. Christmas in April Organizes teams of volunteers from businesses, unions, community service organizations and congregations to preserve and repair the homes of low income, elderly and disabled families and renovate community facilities. Shaklee employee volunteers have teamed up with Christmas in April since 1992 to refurbish 3 homes, two schools and a community center in the San Francisco Bay Area (http://www.citysearch.com/sfo/christmasinapr). Children's Health Council Founded over 40 years ago by pediatrician Dr. Ester Clark, CHC provides opportunities for children and youth to reach their full emotional, educational and developmental potential within the context of their family and community. Along with collaborative relationships with the numerous resources at nearby Stanford University, a grant from the Yamanouchi USA Foundation helped to fund their Health Resource Center. Northern California Cancer Center Conducts cancer educational programs and research in collaboration with leading universities, hospitals and community organizations.
