The rare told truth about network marketing

In the next 2 minutes I will uncover one of those "business models" people either love or hate. What I am talking about is network marketing, also called mlm, multi-level, and social marketing. In fact many distributors won't admit "their" company is one of "those" companies, gosh sometimes even the companies themselves are in denial. Right from the beginning I will say that there is no need to have extreme views about this, it is simply a business model you can love, hate or use if you wish.

However, it is crucial that you understand HOW the business model of network marketing works.

There are basically two reasons some people seem to freak out, simply by hearing someone mention the word network marketing. Either they have tried it themselves, and because they didn't have a clue on how to do it they failed miserably. Or they belong to the group of people who can't get the idea that mlm = pyramid scheme out of their heads.

This second misconception is easy to debunk. Pyramid schemes are illegal almost everywhere, do you really think large multinational companies could operate year after year on an entirely illegal basis?

Secondly, this view on network marketing shows to me a person just doesn't understand. He or she hasn't done an ounce of homework on the various businesses that are available to each of us today, and they are ignorant of the industry itself.

This means they aren't serious. It means they "would like" to make more money, but have no intention of making it happen. They continually "look" for home businesses, which is enough to satisfy their minds that they "did everything they could", but everything they find out there is flawed and are "scams". They are looking to buy "hope", not a business.

There is a saying that goes something like this:"If you spend too much time proscastining about your next step, you will be standing on one leg for the rest of your life". Yes, there ARE scams out there, but mlm is not a dirty word and it is not a synonym for scam. Get over it!

Something to think about... Is Corporate America a Pyramid Scam?

As for the comparison to a pyramid in general - think of any company that comes to mind. The company will probably have a CEO, president, vice presidents, middle management, a sales force, and hourly employees.

It goes without saying that the guy at the top, the CEO, is going to make the most money, and the compensations continue to decrease down the ladder which starts at his cushy leather chair. The only way to get paid more and move up the ladder is to boot someone else out of their spot - and this is what people call okay and normal!

Not to mention the fact that the corporate slave masters seem to have no problem with working people to the limits...and then kicking them out the door before any of the benefits kick in. (As always there are some exceptions, of course). How is this any less pyramid than network marketing? All people in the company work hard, but ONLY those at the very top has "permission" to make a lot of money.

Now, in network marketing the basic idea is that it will be of great benefit to everyone involved to help people who are new reach the top. In fact the whole business idea hinges on this idea - the best way to become really successful in the long term is to help others. With the "right" company there is no mathematical limit to how large a network can become, add in todays global marketplace, the internet and Web 2.0 social networks and the skies the limit.

A network marketing company can diversify and find new markets, just like all companies have to.

But what about the miserable statistics of network marketing, the over 90% drop-out rate blah blah blah...?

This is mainly caused by the simple fact that not that many people know how to do network marketing correctly. Typically the new distributor is taught to make a "100 list" and once they run through that list they start buying leads. BIG MISTAKE!

This is a somewhat unique industry. Most people don't realize network marketing is a business of marketing and promotion pursued by people who have NO IDEA how to market and promote.

Read the above paragraph once more and let it sink in...

If you are going to be involved in network marketing you need to develop both the right mind set and acquire the right knowledge (no, they usually don't teach this in college).

You will discover when you do this business like our team does:

* You don't have to do "in home parties" selling your stuff.
* You don't have to "walk the mall" and strike up conversations with anyone who comes within 3' of you!
* You don't have to post "work at home" flyers!
* You don't have to "buy leads" or customers for that matter
* People will join with you because of who YOU are.

I'll admit not everyone is cut out for this industry. Not everyone has the power within them to develop the right mindset. Not everyone is willing to acquire the RIGHT knowledge. Yes we have the key that unlocks the network marketing success mystery. A 98% increase in my business last month proves to me there is no recession in this industry.

My question for you... Are you willing to do what it takes to unlock the door and work social marketing plan? (or what ever you want to call it) You might know by now I do my business strictly online. but that doesn't mean you have too. Yes it is a franchise in a sense.. but with a twist. Trade Secrets of Testing and Tracking for Results

If you are serious about marketing online to grow your business you will pay attention to what I'm going to share in this post!

I personally don't think of myself as a big "numbers" person, however the longer I'm online the more I realize testing and tracking is just part of running a successful online business. Tracking where the traffic is coming from on your sites will help you to know what to focus on. That's how I generally know when google has ranked my sites for a certain keyword.

Many times I've thought if I could just see the click throughs of other sites it would sure take my marketing, testing and more importantly results to the next level. Now thanks to YouTube adding some new features we can see other video's Stats! When you view a YouTube video, right underneath is a NEW "Statistics & Info" tab. Before they added these tabs when you loaded a video you could choose wether or not to show these statistics. Now for the time being, all video's by defalt are showing stats.

YouTube's new Stats Tab shows only the top 5 referring sites, but this is extremely VALUABLE information. Now you can look at any of your competitor's videos and see 'where' most of their traffic is coming from. This is a great way to find new business strategies, possible business partners or content publishers in your market that would be ideal to send traffic to YOUR videos. Another nice and very viral feature YouTube just added is a link to add the video to MySpace or Facebook.

If you aren't yet tracking stats on your business I encourage you to start a routine to check stats daily. By doing this in time you will be able to visualize what the next day will look like, what's working what isn't etc. Every traffic portal in Veretekk gives you stats, it's up to you to check em and learn from what they are telling you. If one of your marketing strategies is YouTube GO NOW and do some valuable research into your competitors'videos before they HIDE the referral data.

I've learned that if you treat your business like a business not a hobby and run it like any successful business you will too be successful. If you research other successful businesses you will find that they don't teach duplication. Like we see in the MLM world.

Veretekk Update and Delegating out your work Load

Last night in the Veretekk State of the Week conference there were microphone problems. Neither Tom, Mike or I had a mic to talk with. Unfortunatly with no mic it was a short conference and not worth recording. I'll be doing a web conference room training tonite in the VereConference Web Conference Room and I'll be updating everyone with any updates that I know about.

The VereConference Master Distributors got together last night after the Veretekk Conference. We talked about marketing strategies and about the type of content that should be written for the search engines.

I've been working on delegating out tasks in my business so I can focus on my primary business. Did you know the folks over at Mentors on a Mission have a program that you can delegate out your follow up phone calls to them. I'm testing that system and send over 15 or so leads today. As a marketing system owner that is one of the benefits you have access too.

We as online business owners need to realize that sometimes you can't do everything. This is especially a great service for those still working a JOB and are in a time crunch or for those not confident in following up with their own leads.

Veretekkies take the Helm for Sunday's conference

What a nice Sunday update conference we had last night. Paulette Sherb and Butch Hamiltion were co-hosts since Tom and Mike were both out of town. Many of the trainers came to the mic and talked about their expertise so this is a good one to listen and know who's trainings you want to learn from.

Veretekk State of the Week RECORDING

Personally I was in and out of the conference, but I got it recorded for you. Sunday's for us at our house is filled with family time which also involves training and brainstorming about business. Both of our kids are in business with us and we generally mix family time and business on Sunday's.

As a proud Mom I wanted to post a testimony from my son Matt... it was so inspiring to me and I think it will be for you too.

Have you ever just felt like there is no way to get out of debt? Well being a full time college student I have definaltly had to deal with having nothing in the bank. Well that was until lately anyway. I remember when I was around the age of eleven I had all these dreams and ambitions. (live in a huge house in the country, have a boat so I could go fishing when ever I wanted, have a big nice souped up four-wheel-drive truck) Well after spending a enlistment in the Navy and now working on a degree in Kinesology, I started to think that my dreams might not be as easy to reach if I couldn't find a way to make some money. I was starting to think that maybe those dreams might not be as realistic as I had once thought.

I would like to spread the word about Shakle*. Like I said earlier, being a full time college student means that money is not something that I have a lot of. When I first started Shakle* (about 2 month ago) I was working 20 hours a week as a mechanic (making about $6.50 an hour) along with 16 hours of college credit at a major university. This was not an easy task. I was getting so tired of going to school all day then having to go out to work. Not to mention after work I would come home looking like I had just crawled out of barrel of oil.

My mother had gotten me on the shakle* products years ago. And the day that I turned 18 I was signed up a a distributor. For the first 7 years of being involved I really didn't do anything. When I did make up my mind that this was what that I wanted to do I started putting just 2 hours a night into it. In the first month of actually working to make money I made around $1000 for working 40 hours. I just finished my second month of working around 10 hours a week on shakle* and my check this month is $1800. Now, if I calculate how much money I made per hour this month it comes to about $45. Who wouldn't like to make $45 an hour. And the best part of it is my check just keeps on growing from month to month, and I'm not having to work anymore than I did when I started.

I have huge goals for my business and with these new goals I'm starting to dream again!

My mother has always told me that dreams become reality. I think that this is extremely important, because as we get older and we get stuck in the same old routine and we stop dreaming. Shakle* is going to be my ticket to a long, HEALTHY and happy life with the ones that I love.

I want everyone else to have this same opportunity. Believe in yourself that you can do it.. All that it takes is the motivation to make goals for yourself then start working toward them.
