It's my hope that when you are setting your goals for 2006 you include some time for training also. Oliver Wendal Holmes once said, "Man's mind once stretched by a new idea, never regins it original dimension." One of the purposes for this blog is to help you uncover new ideas, get out of your box, expand your comfort zone and to help you pursue the things you love.

Here is another quote from Julius Caesar that I think just hits my point on the head.

Can you tell that I'm in the Holiday Christmas mood.... At the same time I can hardly sleep at night thinking about all the new and exciting thinkg to come in 2006. I will be posting these on my blog too, but I know how busy it gets this time of year and didn't want you to miss it!!! Podcasting
Podcasting is taking the online and offline world like a wirlwind. I even heard a comericial on TV this morning about the stations Podcast. Basically what they were saying if you don't have time to listen to the program it's now downloadable as a podcast. The advertizement said "listen on the go." Man when I heard that something clicked that told me as a serious online marketer podcasting will need to added to the methods we use to reachout to people.

Get Rid of Spyware Forever
I want to share part of the info with you.
Tom showed us how to get rid of spyware forever. Its a simple fix ...

Follow these simple steps it will take less then 5 minutes:
1. Log into your Veretekk system and click on Veretraining.
2. Click on support links
3. Click on the link to fix internet explorer. Download and install the software. It will remove Microsoft's version of Java(that is your problem)
4. Go back to support links after you have removed MS's java and click on the link to get Sun Micros java. After its installed there is a link you can click on the verify the install.

Thats all it takes. Tom said on the conference he hasn't had a spyware problem for 6 months as a result of doing this. As you know spyware will slow your computer down.

Veretekk adding MLM Traffic Portals
The engineers over at Veretekk are onto something big! They will be adding MLM traffic portals for their suscribers primary MLM companies. I've taken a look at the first portal. In fact I signed up for the first MLM portal finished, just so I could have access to this awesome marketing technology! This post is really off my usual topic, but it has been posted here at the request of a reader that lives in a climate to mild for snow.

The tradition of decorating trees appeared in medieval Germany, where part of the celebration of the Feast of Adam and Eve on Dec. 24 freatured a Paradise Tree - and evergreen decorated with apples.

Here is another idea that Mike Fisliame came up with that I will be watching closely.Talk about a Maverick Marketer...Mike's has built a massive list of over 200,000 in just under two years online and has raised some eyebrows with his powerful promotions for JV partners. He does things differently.

In this case study, he's combined he power of blogs, viral traffic,
and a few other elements and I want to see how well it works real time. I'll admit... I've not done much with viral list building techniques other than using the powerful Veretekk System But I'm checking out this new blog concept of Mike's.

Some of the entries on the blog you'll see are funny... but the proof will be in the pudding as they say. I've posted an ad there and I'll let you know what results I get.

When Writing Press Releases - Remove All "Stoppers"

In baseball, it's said that you know an umpire is top-notch when you never notice his presence. If he's doing his job, he won't call attention to himself in any way. It's much the same for the writer of a press release. When the recipient of a release focuses only on its content -- and not on its creation -- the writer has succeeded.

With that in mind, let's talk about how to avoid the dreaded
"stopper" - something that will stop a journalist in her tracks
and distract her attention. Once that happens, your release is
toast. The point of your press release: to present information in
the least obtrusive way possible.

Consider it this way: the journalist isn't dumb -- she knows full well that you've sent her the press release for purely commercial reasons, hoping to get publicity that will make you more money. She can live with that as long as:

A: There's something in it for her (a good story) and
B: She's not reminded of your commercial desires too often.

A "stopper" breaks the suspension of disbelief needed for this
little dance to be successful. It's the boom mike showing up in
the frame of a movie -- once you've seen it, it's hard to
convince yourself that you're really experiencing something that
happened during, say, the Middle Ages.

Here are some "stoppers" to avoid:

=> Clunky language. Journalists keep their language pretty
simple. Long words, compound sentences and lofty, pretentious
phrases are no- no's. Keep your sentences short. Don't try to
present more than one idea in a paragraph. Avoid words you
wouldn't use in everyday circumstances.

=> Hype and puffery. The ultimate "stopper". Confusing press
release copy with advertising copy is a pervasive problem with
businesspeople. Don't call yourself the greatest, the hottest,
the coolest, the most unique or anything of the sort. If you
must make a claim of superiority for your product, service or
company, attribute it. Acme President Joe Blow said the X100
"has the ability to revolutionize the industry" is much
better than "The revolutionary Acme X100 is the greatest
industrial advance since the Wright brothers flew at Kitty Hawk."

Trademark Symbols. Including trademark or copyright or register
symbols screams "hey, look at me! I'm a press release! I come
from a business! The corporate attorneys made me include this
stuff!"

The bottom line: write like a journalist, avoid the stoppers and
answer the Five W's (who, what, where, when & why) and you'll
succeed!

Blog & Ping punched in the mouth!

As you probably know, the "blog & ping"
technique has been one of the best ways
to get new web sites and pages indexed
by the major search engines.

In fact, "blog & ping" has been one of the
hottest online marketing tactics in the past
two years. BUT...

It's now being *CRUSHED* by another

Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other search
