Nothing Else Compares to Tom Prendergast's Training

Very soon Tom could be laying out in the grass on his own ranch doin trainings for us. He has some ranch land in San Diego County pegged with his name on it. I'm so happy for him to be moving away from the rat race in the city to a quiet peacful place in the country.

It's so nice to have Tom back in the Veretekk Training Room again. This guy is an awesome trainer I've learned so much from him. The first recording is his basic HTML training. I have to admit I'm not into writing webpages from scratch, but it sure helps to know this stuff. As I continue to expand my online marketing skills learning html is something that just goes with marketing on the internet.

Tom Prendergast's HTML Training RECORDING

Tom did a training last night on Search Engine Optimization(SEO). Talk about an excellent training! If you are new to all of this online marketing stuff it might stretch you a little, but just keep listening over and over... then it will all start to make sense.

Veretekk State of the Week update

I was so glad to see that Tom Prendergast was going to start training again this week. He has some awesome training that he has been building over the last few weeks. If you haven't even been to any of these training you need to check the Veretekk schedule and make it a point to listen in. I generally try to record them but really you need to be there to get the full effects.

It sounds like the servers issue is just about over. They are loading up the new servers as I write this. Sometimes I'm just blown away when I see some of the tools they getting ready to bring on.

The Right Click Distance can improve your Search Engine Rankings

So What is click distance?
Click distance is the number of clicks it takes to get to a web page from the home page of your web site. If you need 5 clicks from your home page to go to page A and 2 clicks from you home page to get to page B then page B has a smaller click distance than page A.

Why is click distance important?

Some search engines (including Google) seem to take click distance into account when calculating the ranking of web pages. The lower the click distance, the more value is given to a web page.In addition to the click distance, some search engines might also take the directory structure into account.

A web page with the URL www.example.com/page.htm is considered more important than a page with a URL that points to a sub directory: www.example.com/here/there/whereever/page.htm

How can you influence the click distance on your web site?

It's likely that a clean site with less click distance gets better Google rankings than a site with a cluttered navigation. An easy way to make every page of your web site available with at most two clicks is putting a sitemap link on every web page. Using Google's Sitemaps service doesn't help because it does not change the click distance of your web site. You have to put a normal sitemap on your web site.

If you use a normal sitemap on your web site then you don't have to participate in Google's Sitemaps program because Google will find all of your pages through your regular sitemap.

Are there official documents about click distance?

A MSN Search patent application with the title System and method for ranking search results using click distance contains further information about click distance and its possible effects on web page rankings.Click distance is another factor that shows how important it is that search engines can find and parse your web pages quickly and easily... So what is your click distance?

Who else wants POP 3 Training?

Yesterday was a day of recordings for me at the Veretekk conference room. I started out recording Pat Hoffman's POP3 training. She walked through setting up a POP3 email account with Veretekk and also touched on the message rules.

Pat Hoffman's POP3 training RECORDING

I plan on either getting a detailed message rule training or doing one myself. I know Tom P. said he had over 250 folders for his POP3 account, I sure would like to caputre his thought process of how and why he set up the folders like he did. I hear he is coming back into the Veretekk training class room soon so maybe you will see a training like this soon.

I did capture a great Veretekk State of the Week update conference last night. Tom Predergast is such and inspiring speaker and last night he was showing his true colors. If you didn't get a chance to listen to it he was really on a roll last night. I'm posting the only the audio so you can download and fast forward to the actual conference. I started the recording a little early and there were some sound issues at first, but once you get past that part hold on because he is simply an amazing inspirational speaker.

Peacful Fall Day's in Veretekk

There are peacful fall day's ahead in Veretekk. The Sunday evening conference was very assuring that the Veretekk system is running smoothly.

Tom mentioned that he and Mike were going to be out of town for a few days this week. Ahhh that is such a good sign... We like it when everything is running smoothly. If you didn't get a chance to listen to last night's conference I've recorded it for you. There was a wondeful talk from Kevin Brown one of Veretekk's Blind suscribers. Talk about inspiration... this was truly amazing... listen for yourself.
